Rational Reading for November 11th

Happy Veterans Day everyone! If you can read, thank a teacher. If you can read English, thank a veteran.

Here is another installment of Rational Reading. First is a piece from Newsweek no less, about how this whole high-speed rail thing is really a dumb idea. I’ve said it before, it doesn’t and won’t work in this country. We’re far too spread out for it to work. And, as Americans, we’re used to being able to go where we want to go, when we want to go. We don’t want to be confined to a rail line or to a train schedule. Also, if this was such a good idea, private investors would be fighting to get in on this type of thing but they’re not. That should be one of the clearest signs that something is a bad idea.

Also, you all will love this. Your paycheck in this current economy is probably either staying the same or getting smaller. Don’t worry though, people paid from your tax dollars are getting raises and are making a helluva lot more than you are! Never mind how we’re going to keep paying for this as the people actually paying keep getting less and less money… It’s simple math. I think even a first grader could tell this administration that their policies are wrong.

And here is another great piece on the upcoming tax hikes. I just can’t wait for them! How about you?

Peter Ferrara – Stop the Obama Tax Hikes

I’d vote for him in 2012:

W. James Antle, III – Mitch the Knife

And I say we get rid of the EPA.
