Who Created Who?

I was listening to Sean Hannity on the way to the gym tonight and his guest was the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate from New York, Joe DioGuardi. He had a great quote that basically sums up my two pieces on states’ rights–some 3,500 words–in just a few. I forgot the whole context of what he was saying but he brilliantly said “The Federal government didn’t create the states, the states created the Federal government.” He is dead on. The Federal government has become a monster of its original self. The states were the focus of most of our Founders. Those states decided to come together to create a unifying government that would look out for the collective rights and interests of all the states and all the people. Now it does little more than trample them.
